Canon Error 99: Signs and Solutions

In Canon EOS on June 13, 2011 by pointbreakmaow Tagged:

There are many situations that can trigger an error message Cannon 99. The key to solving it is in pointing out the problem. In many cases, an error of Canon 99 is something you can solve alone. However, according to the Canon model you have, could also be a hardware failure, in which you will need to have it repaired or replaced. Whatever the cause, you should be able to correct the error and return to take great photos. Here are a few troubleshootingsuggestions to consider.

What many new photographers do not realize the error Canon 99 is that it does not specify a specific problem. Rather, its presence indicates that there is just something wrong with the camera. In some cases, the solution to your problem is as basic as turning on your camera, wait few seconds and then turn it back on. If this fails, the next step in identifying the cause of the error is to perform basic maintenance on the camera. E 'It may seem obvious, but you'd be surprised how many problems can be solved simply by changing the batteries or the firmware update. In other cases, the error Canon 99 may be due to a problem with the software. A classic example would be using a memory card that is damaged in any way.

If you find that these simple procedures do not solve the problem, it's time to take a good look at your goal. In many cases, an error of Canon 99 occurs when the lens issomehow detached from the body, either by being too large or with a thin film of dust. If the adjustment of the lens or cleaning does not make the mistake of going away, it might be time to replace your lens or send a repair shop for maintenance. Keep in mind that if you use a soft cloth on your target does not seem to get the job done, try using a pencil eraser. You would be surprised how effective it is to collect traces of sand. Just be sure to keep your camera pointed down toprevent dust from rubber to slip inside the camera.

You are using an older model of camera? If so, the cause of your error Canon 99 may well be due to the hardware. Older models have been shown to contain metals that can actually damage the camera as it gets older. Gold, for example, is a soft metal that is prone to wear down or scratches. This allows small amounts of dust and other contaminants build up inside the camera. If you find that none of theseworking methods in making the mistake of Canon 99 to go away, you may need to replace the camera with something a bit 'more recently.

These are just some things to consider when troubleshooting an error of Canon 99. While dealing with this particular problem may seem frustrating, you will be able to save a lot of stress and fatigue by simply shrinking your cause in this way.

Nikon Coolpix P7000 Review and comparison with the Canon Powershot G11/12 and Panasonic LX5

In Canon EOS on June 12, 2011 by pointbreakmaow Tagged: , , , , ,

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Nikon Coolpix P7000 is Nikon offers in the 'prosumer' market with the challenge of the Canon Powershot G11/G12 LX5 by Panasonic and that currently lead the segment of high-end compact cameras.

The P7000 has a 10.1 megapixel sensor with ability to shoot 720p HD video with a jack for an external microphone. The camera also allows continuous auto focus and zoom while recording, giving users more creative flexibility in particular during the shooting and people on the moveobjects. Unlike most compact cameras that can take pictures in RAW mode that gives the user maximum flexibility for image processing in a photo editing program after the photo was taken. This feature is usually found in digital SLR. To complete this impressive feature is the 7.1 x zoom (28-200mm equivalent focal length), with a range of f2.8 to f5.6 aperture. The camera also has an HDMI output which lets you play the video directly on your TV or HDTVcomputer.

Nikon has decided to leave the GPS in the P7000 over the previous model P6000, which will be a disappointment for some users. However, the new model makes up a greater zoom range, most custom controls, better video shooting modes and larger 3-inch LCD rear.

This camera is a good option for the person more and more serious about their photography, but not quite ready to buy a complete system DSLR scale and also for the user looking for a seasoned DSLRsecond smaller body to carry around.

So how does it compare with the Canon G11, the G12 coming from Canon and Panasonic LX5?

Based on optical zoom: This is where the P7000 wins easily with its 200 mm optical zoom 28-140mm zoom vs a 28-for G11/12 and a more restrictive 24-90mm on the LX5. So if a versatile zoom is important to you or a greater focal length telephoto lens then the P7000 is a clear winner.

Based onFormat: If you need something more compact and portable that can easily slip into your pocket, the LX5 Panasonic is the easy winner because it is lighter and thinner.

According to the slow speeds: Determines the ability to shoot in low light. The LX5 Panasonic has the fastest lens with the range of f2.0-3.3 aperture.

Other features: The Canon G11 has a dedicated line to change the ISO, a flash detection mode, and probably the best LCDwith a tilt / swivel display that allows little control when shooting pictures. The Coolpix P7000 is the highest-resolution LCD screen.

Based on the above criteria, the Nikon P7000 may or may not be the winner between these cameras depending on what is most important to your photography.

The P7000 is definitely a worthy contender for the photographer looking for a high-end digital camera that allows a lot of creative control. If you are already a person waiting for Nikonget an easy to carry alternative to your SLR camera, the P7000 is well worth a good look.

For those looking to get into digital SLR photography, or who wants to take a step up from their current point and shoot digital camera, then the Canon EOS 550D or Canon Rebel T2i (which are the same camera) is the perfect solution.

At the time of this writing there really are not any other cameras that have all the features this little gem is packed into a unit. Some cameras are more expensive than some of the features, but notall, which makes this camera a very good value for money.

Megapixel

I remember when she was even 10 megapixels was a huge deal and it was probably in a camera that would cost a fortune. The rebel T2i has 18 megapixels, that unless you are going to be blowing your photos up to poster size or bigger huge wall, then 18 megapixels is certainly good enough for almost any purpose at home.

Lens Kit

Although the twin-lens kit that comes standard with thecamera is not something you could use in a commercial kit is definitely a great lens for general photography applications.

Using different lenses is something that can be expanded by increasing your skill level and that's just a matter of purchasing a compatible lens that can be easily reversed when you need it.

HD Video

This is probably one of the most talked about features of the Canon 550D, the insertion of a high-definition videointegrated camera unit itself. The quality is as good as the average HD camera on the market today with the convenience of not having to carry around two different cameras.

There is a built-in internal microphone to record in mono, as well as an external microphone input for recording better sound quality if necessary.

Software

The software supplied with the T2i is great for recording and editing, as well as the ability to use the cameraat a distance. You have control of all the normal functions of the camera right from your laptop.

Rear screen

Another added feature is the larger screen display that allows you to have a much clearer picture just taken, or for use when used in live mode. This screen has added pixels to obtain a sharp image sharp vision that helps with editing on the go.

Summary

Overall, the Canon EOS 550D | Canon Rebel T2i is crammed fullof great features that will keep the photographer happy for a hobby for many years before having to switch to anything else.

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Are you looking to buy a Canon 50mm 1.8 for your Canon DSLR? If so, you will discover some useful tips in this article on finding quality DSLR lenses online, including the Canon EF 50mm.

Online shopping for a DSLR lens can be confusing, not to mention frustrating. It is not because of lack of options, but even more because of an overload of information marketing desperate to place their products regardless of the quality and performance. While there are manyextended product descriptions available online, you need to know for sure that the target of choice has been used by other photographers and found to be worthy of its price tag. To do this, you must know how to choose the right lens for your camera and also how to search and compare the best available online prices for that specific purpose.

Different goals for different cameras

There are basically four different types of cameras
The basic point-and-shootcameras
35mm SLR lens with a plethora of options
medium format cameras, with high quality photographs
large format cameras used by professional photographers for high-quality images

Of course, today is the digital camera that rule the roost. While there are many digital cameras point-and-shoot that is at hand, digital SLR or DSLR cameras are gaining popularity among amateur and professional photographers. This is because they are accurate, technologically advanced, and produces stunning digital images. They have also, better control of exposure and focus, with the biggest advantage is the ability to change lenses for different shooting needs. These DSLR cameras have a wide range of lens options to choose from. Canon digital camera lenses are very popular among amateurs and professionals for their image quality. The disadvantage is that most of these lenses are expensive and the amateur photographer can find the lowest pricescan be prohibitive. But you can buy a Canon 50mm 1.8 for a great price, if you know where to look!

How to Shop Online Canon DSLR Lenses

After purchasing a digital SLR camera, will soon be tempted to expand your camera kit with the addition of more lenses. If this is the case, you are ready to shop online for the perfect lens! Take the 50mm lens Canon EOS as an example: if you want to buy a Canon 50mm 1.8 Lens online, yourbest thing to do would be to Google and browse through the various websites that offer this target at a wholesale price or discounts. There are many sites, like Amazon, eBay, and so on that offer good prices on-known brands such as Canon, Sony, Nikon, etc. Some of these sites also sell used or refurbished lenses for Canon EOS Rebel XS or cameras at a significantly lower price. As a word of caution, I personally do not recommend buying refurbished DSLR lenses as a doortoo much risk of damage for a small price savings.

Before you shop online, I suggest you aim to compare prices and shipping costs. Do not buy a Canon 50mm 1.8 just because it's on sale discount! Sure of its main features, performance, feedback, and quality construction. Above all, buy a DSLR lens that suits your specific needs and that of the digital SLR camera you have. This way you can be sure to take great photos with a digital SLR camera for an extended period ofcome!

Review of the Canon Wide – The EF-S 10-22mm F 3.5-4.5 USM

In Canon EOS on June 8, 2011 by pointbreakmaow Tagged: , ,

Image : http://www.flickr.com

I just got my new Canon EF-S 10-22 ultra-wide angle lens. This is one of Canon 's most popular lens and is designed for the "sensor crop" series DSLR. More on what a sensor is then collected. My first thought after a couple of frames is "Wow, this is really wide, is wrapped around my block."

The question of the day is because I need a 10-22mm wide angle lens. I already have an EF-S 18-55 zoom camera that comes with X1i Canon. So what I'm going to do withthat more than 8 mm in width for a wide angle shot. 8 mm, which is like a football field when I'm shooting a landscape in the distance (well maybe not a football field, but almost).

There is a great need for those of us who shoot a wide angle lens for landscapes. As you can see in my landscapes, I tend to shoot wide shots with the mountains and red rocks in the foreground and the horizon in the distance. I have been shooting most of my landscapes with my 18mm lens kit on T1i.This means I'm shooting 28.8 mm in 35 mm film. This is because the T1i is a camera with a 1.6x crop factor sensor.

Now I have to explain things crop sensor. Suffice it to say that there are three reports of crop sensors in the line of Canon cameras, full sensor, 1.3x and 1.6x. This refers to the ratio of the sensor (the chip that sees the image and translates it into digital). The full sensor is the same size as the 35mm camera of past years. The other two relations are, in fact, a subset of the full sensor and 35mm film. For practical purposes this means that the sensor would see the entire full football field, the 1.3x sensor would see inside the 20 yard line and the 1.6 factor which takes 30 lines in the yard. Now, the math majors out there I do not keep exact proportions, I'm just trying to illustrate the concept.

Here is a list of what Canon cameras have sensors that:

Canon> EOS 1Ds Mark II and II (Full Frame)
Canon EOS 5D Mark II and 5D (full frame)
Canon EOS 1D Mark III, IV (1.3x crop frame)
Canon Digital Rebel, T1i, XSi, XS (1.6x crop frame)
Canon EOS 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 7D (1.6x crop frame)

Now what does all this have to do with me wanting, needing, lusting after a 10-22mm wide angle? Now we know that this goal is best for my camera (gosh, that took a long time). You will also know thatthe 10mm, the widest of wide angle, is actually a 16mm on my camera than how it looks on a full frame camera. That is still very good and really capture those who go to red rock views that are so fond.

What about the other characteristics of the lens? All the reviews I've read show that it is a very high quality "glass." Canon designates their top-of-the-line lenses with the letter "L" in the description. Although the EF-S 10-22 mm f/3.5-4.5 does not carrythe designation "L", the use of three aspherical elements and an element of standard deviation is a common characteristic of a quality goal. My first shots before the lens left me with the impression that it is as clear and sharp.

This has a quality of optical components and is not a "low-end, the lens type of consumers." Some experts have suggested that if there was a type EF-S lens, L might have received the "description", but since they can not fit on a pro level DSLR (EOS 5D, 1Ds series), Canonnot give it a name "professional" L. In fact, no EF-S lenses have the designation "L" to this day.

EF-S, of course, are designed to be used only with APS-C (1.6 x), sensor and Canon DSLR currently only physically mounted on the Digital Rebel series and EOS 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D 7D. The EF-S design allows the rear element to be closer to the sensor then the EF, improving image quality, especially at longer focal lengths. The "S" in EF-S means "short-Back Focus "and now you know why.

There are many technical reasons that this lens is good for long shots and landscapes. The reviews have shown that it is very strong and very fast when autofocus. On the negative side I'll note that if you use this lens when you look closely a person will make them look like they are standing in the circus show with the distorted mirrors. It 'clearly designed for those shots that are as wide as all outdoors.

The Canon 7D DSLR is suitable for all types of photography against a wide range of purposes for both full frame sensor or not.

Canon EF 50 1.8 – Review

In Canon EOS on February 1, 2011 by pointbreakmaow Tagged:

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Canon EF 50 1.8 is a first fast lens designed for the Canon EOS cameras at an affordable price. If you are thinking of buying the lens, here is my opinion that is hopefully useful.

Pro

When connecting the target of a digital SLR camera equipped with an APS-C sensor, the lens gives a field of view 80 mm. Although the lens can also be used for other applications, for example, poor lighting and fine art photography,is also widely used as a portrait lens.

One of the most outstanding optical quality the EF 50 1.8 is probably its fast f/1.8 maximum aperture. It offers the ability to control the lens for depth of field and shooting at shutter speeds slower than regular kits.

The difference in optical quality delivered from the lens than the Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS kit is not quite obvious in the smaller picture formats. However, when the images are facing majorthe size, clarity and improved resolution provided by the Canon EF 50mm 1.8 lens becomes very evident.

Cons

Many will agree that one of the most interesting things about the goal is the reasonable price. However, while certainly offers the optical performance, low price is reflected in the construction of the lens. The Canon EF 50mm 1.8 lens has a very plastic feel. In addition, the AF motor is not of type USM. It 's more noisy and a bit'slower than other Canon lenses.

Main features of the Canon EF 50mm 1.8 Lens

Fixed focal length.

It offers about 80 mm field of view on a 35 mm moonunted when a C-type sensor of APS Canon camera.

Fast maximum aperture f / 1,8 which allows for greater creative versatility by offering a shallower depth of field compared to the capacity of a standard kit lens.

It can also be used as a fast lens for photography in low light orwhen the shutter speed is required.

sharp images compared to the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS kit.

Focus as close as.45 meters.

52 mm thread for connecting the filter optional filters.

polycarbonate lens barrel assembly and construction.

Lenses 130g in weight.

The dimensions are 68.2 x 50.5 mm (diameter x length).

Recommendation

If the building rather than plastic is not a problem for you, the Canon EF 50 1.8 is highlyrecommended for its excellent optical quality and price. The goal is a practical tool for many types of photography with good image quality. Certainly gives good value for money.
